Offering my GPA 604 Project for Sale

    Hi everyone,

It is with deep regret that I have decided to offer for sale my GPA 604 project, and I'm looking for some advice as to the best place to advertise. The system is located in the Tampa Bay area. I'd really like to see the system go to someone who is passionate about this stuff. The system is 99% complete, needing only some crossover tweaks, mounting the crossovers to the removable crossover panels, and tuning the ports with the port tubes, which would likely be best done when they reach their final acoustic environment.

The system has sat almost entirely dormant over the last year, as business travel and a myriad of life's diversions have prevented me from finishing the project. I'm sure many of you know the system, but for those that don't, it's based on a design by Jay Fisher and GM. The approximate 10cu/ft cabinet was constructed by a master craftsman out of hand selected birch, and will rival anything from a high-end, mainstream speaker company. I built this system with the dream of showing it at CES, so everything from the press fit grills (which are a work of art), to the commercial port tubes was designed in to the system to make it commercially viable. I even have access to the drawings I commissioned so the system could be commercially constructed using CAD to cut the panels (I'd have to pay $250 for them). I have 3 crossovers that I've been experimenting with, two of which were custom built by Donald Patton, hand wired point-to-point, on plexiglass boards (magnificent!). One of the designs is based on a circuit by Vuki on this board.

I'd be embarrassed to admit how much I've invested, but I simply don't have the time to finalize the project. If you've ever dreamed of pursuing such an endeavor, here's your chance to enter the field just short of the goal line.

Any input on where to advertise would be greatly appreciated. I'm afraid to advertise on Craigslist, as I don't have the time or patience to conduct free listening sessions for the curious.

    Thanks in advance!

Sorry to hear that you are selling, but that's they way it goes sometimes.

I would suggest Audiogon as a place to sell. I've sold a good bit there and am happy with it. Lot's of good photos will help.
